Privacy notice
Last updated 13 August 2026
Who is responsible
WickAtlas is operated by Ken Torgersen, who is the data controller for the limited processing described in this notice. The public privacy contact is contact@wickatlas.com.
A geographic service address still needs to be added to the published operator details. Until it is available, privacy and legal correspondence can be started by email at the address above.
WickAtlas has no appointed data protection officer and does not currently use a representative for data-protection purposes.
Current site operation
WickAtlas does not currently operate user accounts, a newsletter database, comments, payments, personalised advertising or a contact-form database. The on-page calculators run in your browser and do not submit their inputs to WickAtlas.
The hosting provider may process essential technical logs such as IP address, browser information and requested pages to deliver and secure the site.
Optional TradingView practice charts do not contact TradingView until you choose Load TradingView chart. If loaded, TradingView hosts the widget and may receive the embedding page address, widget type, displayed symbol, IP address and ordinary request information under its own privacy terms. You can use the WickAtlas lesson without loading the widget.
Privacy-conscious audience measurement
WickAtlas uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate page views, referral sources and page performance so the site can be improved. It is not used for personalised advertising, cross-site tracking, user profiles or decisions about individual visitors.
Cloudflare's Web Analytics beacon does not use cookies, localStorage, sessionStorage or device fingerprinting. Cloudflare states that the source IP received during normal delivery is discarded at the nearest data centre and is not stored in its analytics databases or logs.
A small fixed list of meaningful site actions is also counted through a same-origin request: opening the learning desk, completing a module, passing a checkpoint, opening a Practice-hub step, launching a guided drill, freezing a simulator plan, saving a replay review, using search, following the affiliate link or opening the contact email link. Only the event name is written; WickAtlas does not include lesson answers, notes, chart observations, account values, pair or direction choices, strategy selections or a user identifier. Routine request metadata may still be processed by the hosting provider as described above.
Purposes and lawful bases
WickAtlas relies on legitimate interests to deliver and secure the site, understand aggregate use, improve educational material, answer relevant correspondence and maintain proportionate editorial and correction records. Those interests are operating a useful, secure and accountable educational publication without building visitor profiles. Processing may also be necessary to comply with a legal obligation or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
WickAtlas does not rely on consent for ordinary site delivery or a message that you choose to send, does not use the information for automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects, and does not sell personal information. There is currently no newsletter or direct-marketing list.
Service providers and international processing
Cloudflare processes limited technical, analytics, hosting and email-routing data for WickAtlas. Microsoft processes messages after they are forwarded to the destination Outlook mailbox. TradingView processes requests for an optional chart only after a reader chooses to load it. Information may also be disclosed to professional advisers, regulators, courts or law-enforcement bodies when reasonably necessary or legally required.
Cloudflare, Microsoft and TradingView operate internationally, so their services may involve processing outside the United Kingdom. Their own privacy terms describe the locations and transfer safeguards they use. Email contact@wickatlas.com if you need the relevant provider information for a specific request.
How long information is kept
Cloudflare currently makes Web Analytics data available to WickAtlas for up to six months and retains unsampled beacon data for seven days before aggregation. On the Workers Free plan, the context-free learning-event logs are retained for up to three days.
Email and correction correspondence is reviewed and deleted when it is no longer needed. The criteria are whether the enquiry is still active, whether an affected page remains published, whether an editorial audit trail is needed, and whether the information must be kept for security, dispute or legal reasons. Device-local course, replay, journal and trading-plan records remain until you clear them or clear this site's browser storage.
Device-local simulator journal
The blind-replay simulator can save a replay journal in this site's local browser storage only when you choose to save a review. It may contain exact start and completion times, the chart observations you entered, virtual trades and process scores, but it is not uploaded to WickAtlas. Keep free-text notes about the chart and do not enter personal information.
You can export those records as CSV or remove them with the simulator's clear-journal control. Clearing this site's browser storage also removes the journal.
Device-local course progress
The course pages use this site's local browser storage to remember completed modules, checkpoint scores and optional working notes. The information stays on the device and browser where it was entered and is not sent to a WickAtlas account or course database. WickAtlas cannot view, recover or synchronise it for you.
Use course notes only for learning observations and do not enter personal information. Each course includes a reset control; clearing this site's browser storage also removes all saved course progress and notes.
Device-local trading journal and plan
The private trading journal and trading-plan builder save their working records in this site's local browser storage. Journal rows may include the instrument, prices, planned risk, result and free-text notes. A trading plan may include your constraints, chosen setup rules, risk caps and routines. These records are not uploaded to a WickAtlas account or database, and WickAtlas cannot view or recover them.
Keep personal, account and financial identifiers out of free-text fields. Export your own CSV, JSON or Markdown backup before changing device, browser or storage settings. Use each tool's clear control, or clear this site's browser storage, to remove its saved copy.
Information you send by email
The public contact address is contact@wickatlas.com. If you choose to email WickAtlas, the sender address, message, attachments and related correspondence are received through the email services used by you and WickAtlas. They are used to understand and respond to the enquiry, maintain an editorial or corrections record, protect the site or manage a relevant business relationship.
Do not email passwords, broker or prop-firm credentials, account numbers, identity documents, payment-card details or sensitive financial information. Email is separate from the device-local course and simulator features: WickAtlas does not receive those local records unless you deliberately attach or paste them into a message.
External links and downloads
When you follow an external link, the destination's own privacy terms apply. Affiliate URLs may include a referral identifier so the provider can attribute a purchase.
Downloaded files are served directly from this site. The current MQL4, MQL5 and Pine indicator sources do not contain network, DLL, file-writing or trading functions, as described on the download page. WickAtlas does not send a downloaded file to MetaTrader or TradingView; what you later compile or paste into a platform is handled on that platform.
Questions and privacy requests
Email contact@wickatlas.com with a clear description of a privacy question or request. Depending on the processing and lawful basis, you may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection. WickAtlas may need enough information to identify the relevant correspondence and verify that a request relates to you.
You have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests. This right is brought to your attention separately: state that you object and identify the processing in your email. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office if you are dissatisfied with the response.
Local course progress, replay records, private journal rows and trading plans are controlled in your own browser. Use the relevant reset or clear control, or clear this site's browser storage, because WickAtlas cannot access or delete device-local records remotely.
Providing information and changes
You are not under a statutory or contractual obligation to provide personal information to WickAtlas. If you do not provide an email address and enough context, WickAtlas may be unable to investigate or reply to an enquiry.
This notice is reviewed when the site's data use, service providers or public operator details change. The last-updated date at the top identifies the published version.
